Ye Olde Blog Spam

For the past two days now both Planet Python and Unofficial Planet Python appear to have been receiving about four copies a day of a blog, amusingly (for someone so apparently clueless) entitled Ye Olde Clue.

Could someone please hit the author with ye olde clue sticke and stop this nonsense? We are all used to seeing occasional glitches, but this blog just seems to go over the top.

I don't see any such posts on planet.python.org right now, and grepping the Planet config file doesn't turn up the word 'clue'. Is it the weblog
at http://yeoldeclue.com/blog ?

Yes, that's the one, and specifically the article at http://yeoldeclue.com/cgi-bin/blog/blog.cgi?rm=viewpost&nodeid=1206109429, if you get any chance to look.

I suspect the problem is with the content—if you look at the <description> content it's full of (apparently correctly-quoted) HTML mark-up.

There's probably something funky about the way Thunderbird parses the feed, so the article keeps reappearing.

This has been annoying me for some time too -- not least since Icedove isn't applying my filters to get rid of that particular journal's posts!
