PyCon is Coming

Kirby Urner suggested that the PSF should advertise PyCon at airports. I though this was a great idea until I looked into the cost of hiring the billboards. Thanks to the wonders of modern web technology, however, we can all now see what it would be like to advertise PyCon on buses.

Help Publicize PyCon

It's going to be difficult to get PyCon to exceed last year's numbers given the parlous state of the economy. One way you can help is to make yourself a part of its publicity campaign. The organizers have just come up with some great badges. Put them on your blog, use them in your email sigs, add them to your web sites, and most of all don't forget to actually link them to the PyCon site!

Publicize PyCon!

PyCon 2008: ChicagoThere are signs that Chicago will be hosting the biggest and best PyCon ever in March this year. Even the publicity effort is better organized this year, with help from a PR company and now the introduction of the self-help PyCon publicity kit thanks to Catherine Devlin. The badge on the left comes pre-linked, and there's a smaller badge for your navigation bar too. Check it out, and help PyCon succeed!

This demonstrates yet again that Python is a pragmatist's language, and it's definitely rising in visibility.
