Well, I don't live in the US of A, but I wouldn't be so optimistic about a revolution coming.
I know exactly what you said, that the revolution moves a bit nearer, not that it is near, but I really, really think that taking as granted a future revolution is optimistic. Or maybe I'm not a realist as I think, just a pessimist. Or I missed completely your point.
Anyway: hopefully, I'll be proven wrong.
It was my ironic way of suggesting that the government (Senate, Congress and the executive) are now so clearly not working in the interest of the majority that sooner or later people will start to take direct action.
Given that the education system doesn't seem to encourage direct action in defense of democratic institutions and principles I am probably no more optimistic than you are.
The USA is by no means alone in this. It makes the value of democracy rather questionable. The founding fathers must be rolling in their graves.
